Benefits of e-CODEX

e-CODEX achievements on the political as well as on the technical level results in the validation and demonstration for a number of cross border use cases which demonstrates the collaboration and alignment on the political level and also prove the concept of the reusability of developed software building blocks.

This is shown in different piloting use cases and areas.

What is in it for you?

Maybe you bought a bicycle in another European country through an online seller and the supplier does not deliver. e-CODEX will develop the tools that will help you start a claim against the seller. Not by visiting various agencies (and filling in various forms) but just by using your computer and from the comfort of your own home.

This is just one examples of the impact that e-CODEX will have on the landscape of European e-Justice. To learn more please also visit the section about the e-CODEX pilots.

Why improve the exchange of legal information?

Due to high mobility and European integration, procedures containing cross-border effects are increasing. These procedures require cooperation between different national judicial systems. Indeed, the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) will make judicial procedures more transparent, efficient and economic. At the same time it will help citizens, companies, administrations and legal practitioners to get facilitated access to justice.

This means not only a smoother access to information but also the ability to process cross-border cases efficiently.
