e-CODEX released its first newsletter on the 15th of February 2012. The newsletter contains articles on the following topics:
Coordinator's Column Welcome to the first edition of the e-CODEX newsletter. As the coordinator of this LSP, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce e-CODEX to you.
CeBIT 2012 - Hannover, Germany Making justice faster - the future of the cross border European judicial system. Be a part of it. Visit us at CeBIT 2012 in Hannover in Exhibition Hall 7 - Public Sector Parc. You will find us at Booth B57. We are looking forward to introducing e-CODEX to you.
e-Signature Security is everything. How do you prove that you are who you claim to be in the digital world? Normally you would show your passport or drivers' licence. In the digital world you cannot use these paper documents. Other authentication tools are used to confirm your identity, for example e-Signatures.
Evolution of Justice By designing transnational electronic procedures, e-CODEX marks a new development in the field of e-Justice. The project is building upon foundations that have been laid at the national level and fostered organisational and cultural change. These national experiences provide valuable lessons for e-CODEX.
CCBE's View How lawyers will benefit from e-CODEX and how the regulation of the legal profession has to be taken into account when designing and implementing e-Justice?
Participation of the IT industry e-CODEX does not want to re-invent the wheel. Therefore we work in close collaboration with other organisations and look for every way to re-use knowledge and experience. We join forces with other LSP’s (SPOCS, PEPPOL, EPSOS, STORK), legal communities (CCBE, CNUE), organisations (DGT, EuroVOC) and also with the IT industry.
LSP collaboration What is the use of cross-border eGovernment services in the Digital Single Market? The large-scale pilot projects as e-CODEX, STORK, PEPPOL, SPOCS, and epSOS - co-funded by the EU ICT Policy Support Programme - are five examples of major initiatives set up over the last years within this scope.
